favorite member of 'the trio'
now, this does not pertain just to the Sorcerer's Stone but to the whole series so far. So remember, this is for your favorite member of the trio, throughout the series.

I voted Ron BTW.

missgranger- 08-13-2006

I bet noone knows who I voted for. HERMIONE ALL DA WAY! sorry, couldn't help it.

Darth sharrakor- 08-13-2006

It was a tough choice between Harry and Ron for me but in the end I had to choose Harry. But it's only cuz I can connect with him more than with Ron.

Lady Sugah Sim- 08-14-2006

I voted Harry, cause I like what he stands for. I like Ron fairly well, and have an affection for Miss Granger, too. I don't know what happens to Harry in books 5 and 6, so here's hoping his character doesn't change much. I have liked the way he operates from the start! Hey, this makes 390 posts for me. I am just 10 away from 400! WOO HOO! I will probably try to reach that before this afternoon is done.

Darth sharrakor- 08-14-2006

congrats Sugah sim on 394 posts. I'm slightly alarmed at the two arms coming out of your head tho... Harry's a major pessimist. That made it really tough for me to vote for him but I still feel more connected to him so...

Lord Berethor- 08-14-2006

Ron all the way. He has way more courage than harry or hermione. He demonstrated that from the very beginning. In Sorcerer's Stone he is willing to sacrifice himself for a couple people he hasn't even known for 9 months. That's what I call true courage and loyalty. Ron, not Hermione, all da way!

Lady Sugah Sim- 08-14-2006

I agree with you that Ron has shown incredible courage at times, but not moreso than Harry. I admit the chess game in the Sorcerer's Stone was really something, since (you're right, good point) the Trio hadn't even known eachother very long at that time, while at Hogwarts. Another -*test*-('") was when they went into the Forbidden Forest (Chamber of Secrets) and followed the spiders (Aragog chapter, pg. 337). Ron's fear of spiders is phenomenal, and yet he braved it along with Harry. So, I agree with you, he definitely has had his moments. But I think Harry Potter is braver, knowing what he is up against as Voldemort's enemy, and never fearing to say his name like everyone else. He has shown such strength and courage in times of terror! A prime example (of many) is the Priori Incantatem chapter of The Goblet of Fire. Harry could have absolutely crumbled when Voldemort challenged him to a duel. He showed such bravery then, esp! I would have crumbled with all those death eaters and Lord Voldemort around me. SHEESH!!! (I love these debates. Fun,huh?)

just my input on the matter. Cuz I'm sure that with all the research I've been doin lately, I know much more than everyone else here on the subject of Priori Incantatem. please don't quote me on this since I don't have the exact info in front of me at the moment... Priori Incantatem is where two wands of the same kind (known as brother or sister wands) meet. They cause each other to randomly malfunction to an extreme extent. In some cases, victims of the wand's past, will be allowed passage into the real world. That's the general gist of it. Basically, my point is that Harry beating Voldemort in that duel was pure blind luck...which he has alot of.

Lady Sugah Sim- 08-14-2006

I think you've explained it well enough. That's what was said in the book, anyway. Found this, too: Priori Incantatem Priori Incantatem, or the Reverse Spell Effect, is caused by forcing two wands that share the source of their cores to compete. The tips of the two wands will connect with a thick golden thread, and the two wands' masters fight a battle of wills. The loser's wand will regurgitate shadows of spells that it has cast in reverse order. These shadows generally appear as thick smoky replicas. The Priori Incantatem effect has only been encountered once, during the duel between Harry Potter and Lord Voldemort at the end of Goblet of Fire. Their simultaneous spells triggered the threads, and as Voldemort lost the battle of wills his wand regurgitated, in reverse order, recall-shades of the spells he had cast with it- screams of pain from torturing Harry, a shadowy form of the silver hand he had just created for Wormtail, and echoes of the people his wand had murdered: Cedric Diggory; Frank Bryce; Bertha Jorkins; and James and Lily Potter. Albus Dumbledore later revealed to Harry that both his and Lord Voldemort's wands shared a tailfeather core from Dumbledore's pet Phoenix, Fawkes. But blind luck? Maybe, S. But to go up against Voldemort constantly in the first place, that's really something. Most wizards and witches fear even saying his name. I stand firm beside Harry Potter, thank you very much.

I voted Harry. I was gonna vote Ron but SS made a great argument. Good job SS, you swayed my vote.

phoebe- 08-14-2006

Hermione...cuz she's a chick.

Lady Sugah Sim- 08-15-2006

I voted Harry. I was gonna vote Ron but SS made a great argument. Good job SS, you swayed my vote. Hey, WOW, E! Thanks! I had a lot more examples of Harry's bravery, but ran out of time to post them all!

Eragon- 08-15-2006

lol. well, I'd love to hear them whenever you got the time. But don't go into that now. It's pretty late for everyone right now. Except for Neeco and Vishnu, I dunno what the time difference is (my lame geography skills again) between here and the UK is but it must be about dawn for them. That'd be funny, we're all heading to sleep and they're just waking up. lol.

Lady Sugah Sim- 08-15-2006

We've got the same situation over at Planet the Sims forum, E. Our Ice Dragon is in Scotland. She is about 6-7 hours ahead of us. So, when we are all posting our brains out around dinner time in California, Texas or Illinois, it is like 2:00-3:00am in Scotland. Vishnu and our other UK members are hours ahead of us. It is probably 8:00am there. We are going to bed and they are just waking up. And I intend on posting some more examples of Harry's bravery tomorrow. Stay tuned...
