Immunity #6: Library Search
Background: You five must find 10 books spread throughout a library. But it will not be easy. Traps sit in place of books in some places and you must never let your guard down. The books in this library are unique, they are not marked in any way besides the title, and none of the books have any organised order to them. Books: Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them: 3 copies, 1 point each. Quidditch Through the Ages: 3 copies, 2 points each. History of Magic: 3 copies, 3 points each. Tom Riddle's Diary: 1 copy, 5 points. Traps: There are ten in total. They are spread equally throughout the library. Each of them will cause you to miss a turn. In landing on a trap, you also lose one point. So be wary of traps, they are definitely not going to help your score. Objective: Have the most points after all the books have been found. Rules of Play: The five of you post your turn in this thread. Then I post what happened to each of you. Then play continues. The Library Layout: In the library, there are 3 sections. Section 1, 2, and 3, nice and simple. In each section, there are five bookshelves. Each bookshelf, has two sides, left and right, that can be searched. Each bookshelf, has five rows in it, left and right side, of course. Missing Turns: You miss turns when you land on traps. When transferring to another section, you have a turn where you don't search anywhere, but you don't actually miss a turn. Taking your Turn: On your very first turn, you will be deciding whether you move right or left. Moving right, you will go up in amount of numbers. Moving left, you will go down in amount of numbers. In other words, right=1,2,3, etc. left=5,4,3, etc. Once you decide which way you're going, you must go in that direction for the whole challenge. During a regular turn, here's what it might look like... Starting Location: Section 1, Bookshelf 1, Row 1, Left Side Ending Location: Section 1, Bookshelf 2, Row 4, Right Side So while that player is required to move to the next bookshelf, they can choose whichever row to search, and whatever side they want to search. Now, for transferring to another section, which takes a whole turn. Starting Location: Section 1, Bookshelf 5, Row 1, Left Side Ending Location: Section 2 Notice how that player is only going to Section 2, and they aren't allowed to physically search for anything there until next turn. Here is another scenario, where the player does not want to go to the next section, but instead stay in their own. Starting Location: Section 1, Bookshelf 5, Row 1, Left Side Ending Location: Section 1, Bookshelf 1, Row 2, Right Side Understand all of this? I sure hope so. Now, there's no order to the game. Just make sure you don't take two turns in between my updating. And I've randomly given you all starting locations...and here they are. Eragon starts at Section 1, Bookshelf 2 MissGranger starts at Section 1, Bookshelf 4 Phoebe starts at Section 2, Bookshelf 4 The Imperial Swordsman starts at Section 3, Bookshelf 2 Vishnu starts at Section 3, Bookshelf 3 Your first real search will happen in the bookshelf to the left or right of you.
