"Ghost is a word game in which players take turns adding letters to a word fragment. The goal is to continually be in the process of making a word, without having said word be made on one's turn. Words generally follow the mold of Scrabble: no proper nouns, no foreign languages, etc. In addition, only words four letters long or longer count in Ghost. Whoever adds a letter to the fragment that makes a valid word longer than three letters, loses the game. Since the fragment must always be in the process of making a word, one can opt not to add to the fragment but rather to "challenge." The challenge has two possible outcomes: there was no word being made and the last player to add a letter loses, or there was a word being made and the player to challenge loses."
This is a game I used to play a lot, but haven't played in like forever. So I don't know if you guys will like it, but I always thought it was pretty fun.
To summarise the above, if you don't understand, people take turns adding letters to a word until one of two things happen.
A) somebody creates a word and is called out on it.
or
B) somebody accuses someone of creating a word, but they haven't.
or
C) somebody adds a letter than can't be used to form a word.
So basically, the idea is that each person adds one letter to the word until one of those two things happen.
For example, a game could look like
Yellow: T
Green: TA
Yellow: TAC
Green: TACK
Since green formed a word by adding K, he loses. Of course, I have to say something though. Another way to lose is by accusing someone of making a word when they actually did not.
Yellow: T
Green: A
Yellow: L
Green: Tal is a word!
Yellow: No it isn't, I win!
The last way to win is by spotting someone trying to make a word that just doesn't exist.
Yellow: S
Green: H
Yellow: A
Green: E
Yellow: Hey, that can't be used to form a word at all. I win!
I hope I explained it well for you all.
I suppose I will start with a good ol' letter...
A
